Husband of Engberg-Lehmer. State medical examiner Dr Thomas Bennett nonetheless certified the cause of death as “shaken‑slammed baby syndrome”, based largely on microscopic “tears” in the brain that other pathologists consider artifacts, not evidence of shaking.
